Obituary of Anthony Fischer
Anthony Adam (Tony, Pastor Tony, PT, Edmund) Fischer died at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY, May 23, 2019. Tony had struggled with health issues for the past 18 months and while painful for those who knew and loved him, this was truly a blessing.
Tony (he disliked being called Anthony) was born March 30, 1939 to the late Walter and Marie nee: Wojewoda Fischer and grew up on the east side of Buffalo. He was pre-deceased by brothers Arthur and Walter.
Tony worked in many fields that involved selling goods to people – eventually owning five car dealerships in the Buffalo area as well as an advertising agency. He retired at the age of 47, moved to Maui, got skin cancer and cataracts, and returned to Buffalo for treatments. It was during this time that God called him to the ministry. His gift of communication enabled him to easily connect with people and, as a biker, he was particularly drawn to the Biker community. Tony was chaplain to the Wyoming County Hogs for 12 years and was the first chaplain of Hogs and Heroes NY Chapter 1.
Tony is survived by his wife of ten years, Aurelia, a sister, Virginia Bala, two sons, Marcus and Michael, two nieces, as well as his ever-faithful companion, Willy.
A Celebration of Tony’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM on June 15, 2019 at the Ransomville Free Methodist Church, 3924 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville, NY 14131. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Ransomville Free Methodist Church in Tony’s memory. Tony’s ashes will be dispersed on the grounds of the Master’s Plan Ministries in Dayton, NY at a later date.
